Ashley J RussellAshley originates from Central Scotland and began performing at a young age under the direction of Caroline Newlands and also McKechnie School of Dance and Performing Arts. This strong foundation lead her to perform professionally with The Scottish Ballet and Rambert Dance Company. She then gained a BA in Acting at Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh and furthered her training with an MA in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London under the prestigious Dame Judy Dench Scholarship.

In 2008, Ashley competed against 10,000 girls to become a finalist in BBC One’s search for Nancy in I’d Do Anything. Since the show, she has performed in many concerts and workshops, including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to Phantom of the Opera: Love Never Dies. This year she has also been in the studio recording a track for the new Scottish.

Theatre includes: Naomi, The Waiting Room (Pend Studio, Gateway Theatre & Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh); The Mother, 20th Century Boy, workshop (Battersea Arts Centre London); Ensemble, Phantom; Love Never Dies, workshop (Sydmonton Festival); Teacher, Killer Queen, We Will Rock You (Original Touring Cast).

Concerts include: Lead vocalist in ‘A Tribute to Richard Rodgers’ RSNO (Glasgow Royal Concert Hall); Bristol Harbour Festival, Coventry City Ricoh Stadium.

Film Includes: Vocalist for the animated feature film Sir Billi produced by Sir Sean Connery.

TV includes: I’d Do Anything BBC1, The 5.30 show STV and The Hour STV.
